U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- The sport of 3-gun has rocket to the top of the shooting world, with competitions raking in big sponsors and huge purses. As the competition has become more intense, shooters have challenged manufacturers to product more innovative equipment in the hopes they could gain a competitive edge.
In this game, speed kills – the competition. So being able to move fast is critical to winning. As a result, competitors look for any way to reduce weight in their equipment, especially in the guns. And there are no lighter AR rifles than those offered by 2A Armament.
The company’s flagship rifle, the Balios Lite BLR-16, weighs a mere 5 pounds, which is a full 1.5 pounds lighter than a standard AR rifle. To achieve this reduced weight, the Balios Lite BLR-16 is outfitted with a 16-inch pencil-profile barrel and mid-length gas system. It also features a titanium T3 compensator, a titanium gas block and titanium takedown pins. To further shave ounces, 2A Armament has also eliminated the forward assist.
