Council of Great City Schools Promotes Gun Control Resolution

U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- The Council of The Great City Schools, which claims to be “the nations voice for urban education,” has unveiled a resolution that it is asking it’s 60-member school district to review.

The resolution claims to be about school safety, but it appears to be about gun control. The group also says that they are standing in solidarity with the students of Broward County Public Schools even though recent articles have pointed out a lot of students and teachers in Broward County say they do not support gun control.

The resolution pushes Congress to extend the perimeter of gun-free school zones. Every school shooting happens in a gun free zone, so it is unclear how this would make schools safer. In fact, according to Crime Prevention Research Center, a little over 98% of all mass shootings since 1950 have happened in gun-free zones. Going by these number the expansion of these zones would make schools less safe.
