A story from CNN is lays out the challenge facing the Crescent City as well as others around the country: “New Orleans’ top priority: Cut its murder rate”. And the rate there is down, per the story, “2013 brought a 19% reduction in the murder rate from 2012, and the number of murders in New Orleans was the lowest recorded since 1985.
