Law Enforcement Could Start Confiscating Semi-Auto Rifles Under New Bill

If a semi-automatic rifle can accept a detachable magazine and has an adjustable stock or pistol grip it could be confiscated under a new law being proposed in Georgia.

Any weapon deemed an “assault weapon” would be seized and destroyed by law enforcement.

So the mantra, “We are not coming after your guns” really was just a ruse to dupe us into silence after all. Not that we actually remained silent on this issue.

According to cnsnews.com, the Democrat lawmakers proposing the bill aren’t even shying away from using the word “confiscate”.

A major purpose of HB 731 is “to designate certain weaponry and ammunition as contraband and to require seizure of such by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.”

The measure requires “assault weapons” and “high caliber weapons” not turned in by owners to be seized by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Under the bill, “Any selective fire firearm capable of fully automatic, semiautomatic, or burst fire at the option of the user” would be banned.
