Delaware WFNR Police Investigating Deer hunting Incident With Injuries Near Millsboro
Delaware -(Ammoland.com)- DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police are continuing their investigation into a hunting incident in which a bow hunter’s arrow struck and injured another hunter in the abdomen.
The incident occurred at about 5:45 p.m. Thursday on the edge of a farm field near Millsboro.
A 54-year-old hunter in a tree stand shot an arrow from his compound bow that struck the 24-year-old victim on the ground about 30 yards away.
The injured man was airlifted to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes by the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit.
After he was stabilized, he was airlifted to a Maryland hospital, where he underwent surgery today.
No charges have been filed at this time, according to Sgt. John McDerby, Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police.
