Newtown, CT -(AmmoLand.com)- Legislators in New Jersey seem ready to replace one failed state mandate with another one rather than allowing the free market to work.

State Sen. Loretta Weinberg, sponsor of the original New Jersey “Smart Gun” mandate law, has now introduced legislation to repeal the original mandate and instead force firearms retailers to carry at least one model of an authorized user technology equipped firearm in their inventory.

S.3249 is scheduled for a hearing in the Senate Law and Public Safety Committee Monday, Nov. 16 at 10:30 a.m. in State House Annex, Committee Room 10. NSSF is urging all New Jersey retailers and gun owners to express your opposition to this attempt to create an artificial market. Attend the hearing or contact your senator by phone or email.
