We Have Won The War On Gun Safety – I Want The Dam Parade

USA – -(Ammoland.com)- With the help of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and Americans everywhere we have won the war on gun safety & achieved substantial reduction in violent gun crime rates.

So why all the yelling about gun control and where is our parade?

A recent PEW study shows murders with guns have dropped 30% in the past 25 years. A Federal Bureau of Justice study shows even more impressive number.

1. ) Gun related homicides are down 39% since 1991.
2. ) Crimes involving guns are down 69% since 1991.

Accidental shootings are down 80% over the past 80 years.

So without a single new law on the book, without any confiscation or licensing or a change in background checks gun related crimes are down a whopping 69% over the past 25 years.

These numbers come from the federal Bureau of Justice, and the PEW report. The summary of the BJS document’s key findings are below.

Firearm-related homicides declined 39%, from 18,253 in 1993 to 11,101 in 2011.

Nonfatal firearm crimes declined 69%, from 1.5 million victimizations in 1993 to 467,300 victimizations in 2011.
