In a symbol of the over regulation and trampling of our rights, the last gun shop closed its doors in San Francisco. With more regulations coming to the only open gun shop in the liberal city the small business decided it was too much and not worth staying open.

The new regulation that came out stated that the gun shop was going to need to submit video surveillance of every purchase and transaction would need to be submitted on a weekly basis to the local Police Department.

“This time, it’s the idea of filming our customers taking delivery of items after they already completed waiting periods,” store owner Alcairo said. “We feel this is a tactic designed to discourage customers from coming to us.

“This year, it’s this and next year will probably be something else,” Alcairo added. “We don’t want to wait for it.”

Being the only gun shop in the city has its advantages with gun enthusiasts and police officers swarming the store after the closing announcement.

The store was founded in the 1950s by the Olympic shooter Bob Chow who competed in the ’48 Olympics pistol shooting event.
