9th Circuit Court of Appeals Won’t Revisit CCW Ruling

SAN DIEGO, CA — Last February, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against the county of San Diego in Southern California. In a 2-1 ruling, the court decided that a citizen does not have to provide a valid personal safety concern to be able to carry concealed in public areas.
The court decided that the county’s regulations were too restrictive and infringed upon the Second Amendment rights of its citizens. The majority opinion stated, “Given this requirement, the ‘typical’ responsible, law-abiding citizen in San Diego County cannot bear arms in public for self-defense.” The majority ruled that the …read more
