XGI: That time that Ruger made the Mini-14 in .308 (VIDEO)

Back in 1985, Ruger prototyped a .308 Winchester variant of their popular Mini-14 series rifles, aimed at the LE market, but it never made it out of the catalog.
Made by stretching the standard Ranch Rifle a skosh, the gun appeared in a great hype piece in SWAT magazine that year and retail was to be $425 for the 8-pound carbine. The thing is, the company only ever made about 100 of these and never really pulled the trigger on full-scale production.
With that being said, the Kentucky Gun Co has one in their vault and show it off, including a little chest thumping range time, in the above video.
