Montgomery, AL -(AmmoLand.com)- If you want to see the largest alligator ever taken in the wild, mark your calendar for Oct. 4-16 and visit Lakepoint State Park at Lake Eufaula.

The Stokes Gator, hauled in last year upriver from the Millers Ferry Dam near Camden, was certified at 15-feet, 9-inches and 1,011.5 pounds. The alligator was 13 inches – and almost 200 pounds – larger than the previous world record.

Mandy Stokes and her husband, John, her brother-in-law Kevin Jenkins and his children, Savannah and Parker, battled the record reptile for hours before lashing it to their boat. It was plenty hard work, she said. It will be easy for you to see the beast.

Just come to Lakepoint and take a gander – and a few photos – of the gator. It’s amazing.
