A large majority of the women who come through my classes has raised the concern about storage of their firearm when they’re not carrying it. It seems simple enough to answer at first. Certainly, it needs to be unloaded and locked in a safe, especially if children are in the home. But, this is Concealed Nation, and most of us who follow Concealed Nation do so because we are in the mindset of carrying concealed, always. For me, locking up my EDC seems almost odd now. Why? Well, because I always have it on me, unless I’m somewhere where the law would preclude my carrying. So, the second part of the answer I give is “Same gun, same place…everyday.”

To those who are new to firearms, I certainly understand that carrying can be a scary prospect, simply because you are placing a potentially lethal object on your body. From what I see in my classes, I know that notion can be quite daunting to someone who, eight hours prior, had never picked up a gun. I had those very feelings when I started.
