Woman scares off attacker with gunshot

A 45-year-old is facing domestic violence charges after police say he hurt a woman in Northeast Portland early Sunday morning. Officers arrived at the house on NE 79th Avenue just before 4 a.m. to find a woman with a knee injury, holding two guns. She told police that David Stephens, a convicted felon, hurt her and threatened her with a firearm. Police didn’t specify how the two were related.
