To commemorate its 150th anniversary, Winchester put aside 10 of its pre-production Winchester Model 1866 “Yellow Boy” rifles to raffle off at the beginning of SHOT Show 2017. The rifles are chambered in .44-40 caliber and are from Winchester’s commemorative collection. They also feature custom embellishments and identification, a box of commemorative Winchester ammunition and the Winchester 150th collectable medallion.

There are 10 limited-edition rifles available for auction on GunBroker.com. Starting bid for the commemorative firearm ranges from $1,299.99 to $11,000 and directly benefits the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s Project ChildSafe, a foundation dedicated to firearms safety.

NSSF’s Project ChildSafe program makes free firearm safety materials, including gun locks, available to any community in the country that requests them through a law enforcement agency. Project ChildSafe’s goal is to help reduce firearms accidents, theft and misuse.

According to the NSSF, from 2006 to 2015 fatal firearms accidents have declined by nearly 24 percent and now constitute less than 1 percent of all types of fatal accidents.
