The 1911 magazine war is officially over: Wilson Combat has announced it has acquired competing 1911 mag manufacturer Chip McCormick Custom/Shooting Star Industries.

Chip McCormick Custom/Shooting Star Industries will now be known as CMC/Shooting Star Industries, with its headquarters remaining at its current location in Spicewood, Texas. An additional Shooting Star facility will also be built in northeast Texas.

“The CMC/Shooting Star line is a very important group of products within the 1911 industry and has a great history of innovation and success. Wilson Combat is committed to ensuring the broad availability and future development of more quality and innovative products under the Shooting Star banner for years to come,” Wilson Combat founder Bill Wilson said in the presser.

Chip McCormick said his decision to sell to Wilson Combat was spurred on as a result of his desire to retire and “simplify” his life.
