Senator Rand Paul doesn’t like the idea of the President’s executive orders usurping Congress’s constitutional authority. Nor does he favor the expansion of background checks, fearing that it leads to registration and confiscation. That much you know. But did you know that comedienne Whoopi Goldberg is OK with people – presumably the government – coming to her house and looking for her gat? “Whatever you need.” And then she goes on a tear about . . .

automatic weapons. Sen Paul sets her straight on that score, without mentioning that some Americans do have automatic weapons, which have been involved in precisely zero crimes. Not that we shouldn’t have them, or that they can’t be used for criminal purposes, or that the Second Amendment prohibits the keeping and bearing of fully-automatic weapons. But you know…ignorance.

Anyway, it’s good to know that some liberals are totally OK with the government searching their houses for no particular reason. Oh wait. Because guns.
