Last year, the gun industry generated an estimated $51 billion and contributed nearly $7.4 billion in federal and state taxes. And while it’s no question guns are big business, some state economies depend on the gun industry more than others in the form of not only sales but jobs and political contributions as well.
A recent analysis by WalletHub broke down each state and compared them one to another as they relate to the business of guns. As it turns out, Alaska is the most dependent on firearms to boost their economy, while Rhode Island is the least dependent.
