West Virginia’s 2015 seasons set for dove, rail, snipe and woodcock

West Virginia -(Ammoland.com)- West Virginia’s 2015-2016 bird hunting season dates and bag limits for mourning dove, woodcock, common snipe, sora and Virginia rails have been set, according to Paul Johansen, chief of the Wildlife Resource Section of the Division of Natural Resources (DNR). These seasons are set within the guidelines established annually by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Shooting hours for dove are from noon to sunset Sept. 1, 2015, (opening day of the first segment) and from one-half-hour before sunrise until sunset for the remainder of season. Shooting hours for rails, woodcock and snipe are from one-half-hour before sunrise to sunset. The possession limits for doves and woodcock are three times the daily bag limit.
