West Virginia Mid-Winter Waterfowl Survey Shows Decrease in Duck and Goose Observing
South Charleston, W.Va.-(Ammoland.com)- – Fewer ducks and geese were observed during West Virginia’s annual mid-winter waterfowl survey compared to 2014, according to West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Waterfowl Biologist Mike Peters.
DNR wildlife biologists and wildlife managers completed the survey Jan. 8 and 9. This annual survey involves both ground and aerial observations of historically significant waterfowl areas in the state.
Observers counted 7,844 ducks and 6,390 geese during this year’s survey.
