Virginia -(Ammoland.com)- The West Virginia Master Naturalist program will have its sixth annual conference June 12-14, 2015, on the campus of Davis & Elkins College in Elkins. Members from eight active Master Naturalist chapters from across the state will be attending.

“The mission of the Master Naturalist Program is to train interested people in the fundamentals of natural history, nature interpretation and teaching, and to instill in them an appreciation of the importance of responsible environmental stewardship,” said Bernie Howe, secretary of the Division of Natural Resources State Advisory Committee of the Master Naturalist Program.

The conference will feature several new courses along with popular courses from previous years. Highly qualified volunteers will work with representatives of government agencies, schools and non-government organizations to study research methods, outdoor recreation development and environmental education and protection.
