Watch Whoopi Goldberg Plead for Automatic Guns to Be Banned and Rand Paul Inform Her They Already Are

If it’s one thing anti-gunners have on their side it’s ignorance. That ignorance was revealed once again during an episode of “The View” on Wednesday.

Automatic weapons are not available to the public. Neither have automatic weapons been used in any of the front-page mass shootings that occurred last year.

But still Whoopi Goldberg tried to get Rand Paul to support a push to ban automatic weapons from the general public only to be told that they are already banned.

In order to even get your hands on an automatic weapon you have to first get a special license from the federal government, pay $200 to the IRS, and then go through a ton of paperwork with the Treasury Department. In other words, it’s way beyond a simple background check.

“Automatic weapons, they’re not for hunting. They do nothing — they’re only there to kill. And you’ll notice that a lot of things that happened are with automatic weapons,” she claimed to Paul. “When we see that why don’t we say, ‘Who really needs to have one other than people that are at war?’”
