Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt (R) has fought his Democratic challenger often over the issue of gun control, but the Show Me State’s secretary of state showed just how talented he is when it comes to handling a firearm in a recent video.

Jason Kander, an Army veteran who served in Afghanistan, released a new advertisement last week in which he assembled a rifle in less than 30 seconds — blindfolded.

“Sen. Blunt has been attacking me on guns. Well, in the Army, I learned how to use and respect my rifle,” Kander said, adding that while serving in the state legislature, he also “supported Second Amendment rights.”

“I also believe in background checks so that terrorists can’t get their hands on one of these,” he continued.

As the Kansas City Star reported in June, the battle between Blunt, 66, and Kander, 35, has been intense — especially on the issue of gun control. The National Rifle Association has awarded Blunt an “A” rating and has given Kander an “F” rating.

“It doesn’t matter how skilled you are at assembling a rifle when you consistently vote against law-abiding citizens’ constitutional right to self-defense,” NRA spokeswoman Jennifer Baker told the …Read the Rest
