As free American citizens, we have the right to speak openly about our opinions. It’s one of the many amazing things about this country that we are fortunate to be able to exercise.

While Obama has every right to preach about his “anti gun agenda”, it’s in poor taste to do so at the funeral of slain police officers, as he exploits the very tragedy responsible for the somber occasion for his own political gain.

He also made some rather strange comments during his speech, as discussed in a recent NRA article:

“However, we’re not sure that ‘strange’ is the best way to describe it. On the one hand, the claim was indeed ‘strange’ to the extent that comparing guns to computers and books is, as the newspaper put it, ‘a catchy talking point [that] doesn’t make much sense’ and ‘an exaggerated claim based in no real statistics, and which does nothing but distract the public.

And it was ‘strange,’ as in ‘inappropriate,’ for Obama to try to transform the solemn occasion of a memorial service into a campaign event for more political grandstanding on his gun control agenda.”
