Mission 22 Elder Heart lead

Warriors Heart is a brand new form of treatment for those suffering from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and substance abuse.

Co-founded by U.S. Army veteran Tom Spooner, Warriors Heart is open to all first responders. The organization is looking for warriors from “every walk of life.” It isn’t limited to just military. While active military and veterans make up a large portion of those fighting PTSD battles, Warriors Heart also takes in law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMTs/paramedics.

“They’re always the ones that are running into the gunfire, running into the burning building. They’re the ones that are always going to save others,” Spooner says. “… Our first responders, our firemen, our paramedics, and our law enforcement come onto scenes and see those things that shake up their humanity every single day.”
