Walther shipping new 9mm PPS M2 pistols standard with RMSc optic (VIDEO)

Walther had their updated PPS M2 at the NRA Annual Meeting in Dallas last week and said the factory RMSc package is now shipping to retailers.
The parallax-free red dot is a slimmer version of the Shield RMS designed for subcompact carry pistols, a category that Walther’s PPS M2 fills nicely. The 1-inch wide single-stack 9mm uses a 3.18-inch barrel and goes just 6.3-inches overall, specs that are comparable to the Glock 43 and Smith & Wesson Shield. The factory-standard red dot model has its top slide milled to accept the RMSc with no overhang but ships with a cover plate should the user want to just rely on the co-witnessed iron sights.
Empty weight with the optic is 21.7-ounces as the RMSc with battery only accounts for 0.57-ounces.
Company reps say the combo makes fast target acquisition easy and is a feature they are getting more requests for. “Incorporating a high-quality micro red-dot into the PPS M2 platform, without adding bulk to the gun, addresses the growing consumer interest in red-dot mounted carry pistols,” said Bret Vorhees, director of product development at Walther.
Retail for the package is $699
