It Happened To Me 400-Round Firefight

Back in August, Milwaukee police shot and killed a gun-wielding suspect on the south side of the city. According to Wisconsin Public Radio, Police Chief Alfonso Morales said officers were following up on a suspect who had fled earlier in the day.

The body-cam video shows officers conducting a traffic stop. After removing the driver from the car, the 48-year-old suspect climbed into the driver’s seat. Then, he took off, knocking one officer to the ground. The officers pursued, but ended up losing sight of the car.

However, officers later stopped a vehicle in the 1900 block of South 10th Street a little before 5 p.m. They were talking to the occupants, when a man in the back seat exited with a handgun. Police drew and ended up shooting Mario A. Hobson.

Reports On The Gun-Wielding Suspect

Now early reports of this police shooting discuss how Hobson supposedly fled police. They also mention that it happened on the anniversary of the Milwaukee officer shooting of 23-year-old Sylville Smith. That shooting caused riots on the city’s north side.
