Video: How to Fillet a Northern Pike
One question a lot of anglers want answered is how to get the Y-bones out of a pike fillet. My answer: don’t put them in there in the first place. Instead of filleting a pike the traditional way, then working your knife around the Y-bones in a PETA attempt to remove them, try the Five-Fillet Method, which results in five bone-free fillets from each northern. Here’s a pretty good video on how to go about it.
