Hickok45 is at it again, this time with the all-new Mossberg Shockwave shotgun, also known as the 590 Shockwave.

Puns aside the Mossberg’s new 590 shotgun has been making “shockwaves” early on, and Hickok45 puts it through its paces. For those unfamiliar with the YouTube channel Hickok45, it’s run by the father-son duo of Greg and John Kinman, who have a serious following and test out just about every major firearm that hits the market.

The 590 Shockwave is classified by BATFE as a “Non-NFA Firearm” and, as such, doesn’t require a tax stamp for transfers. This compact 12-gauge pump-action features a 14-inch barrel with a bead sight; non-binding twin action bars; positive steel-to-steel lock-up; an anti-jam elevator; dual extractors; Mossberg’s ambidextrous top-mounted safety; a durable, lightweight, anodized aluminum receiver; and Shockwave Technologies’ durable, glass-filled polymer Raptor grip, from which this firearm gets its name. The 590 Shockwave is 2.75- and 3-inch capable with a six-round total capacity.

We at Athlon Outdoors had the opportunity to check out the Shockwave at SHOT Show 2017 and it does not disappoint.
