Virginia -(Ammoland.com)- The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (DNR) and the West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance (WVDVA) have announced veterans and active duty military personnel will receive discounted rates at West Virginia State Parks.

“Veterans Salute” is a year-round 10 percent discount on all standard lodge rooms, cabins and campsites, according to Sam England, Chief of DNR’s Parks and Recreation Section.

Additional discounts and offers for veterans and military personnel may be offered seasonally as “salutes” to West Virginia’s men and women in uniform. In 2015, veterans and active duty military personnel also are extended free swimming at any outdoor pool at a West Virginia state park during the open season.

To take advantage of this year-round lodging discount, veterans should present their DD214 or West Virginia driver’s license with “veteran” designation to receive the discount on rooms, cabins or camp site rentals. Active duty military personnel may present their Common Access Card (CAC).
