Utah Carry Permit No Longer Recognized By The State Of Minnesota

Just a heads up to individuals who use a UTAH permit to carry concealed in MN.
Your Utah permit is NO LONGER RECOGNIZED by the State of Minnesota.
The following list shows the permits MN recognizes. Utah is no longer among them.

Unfortunately, the best advice I can give you in order to be legal in MN is to apply for a non-resident MN permit. Minnesota has very cumbersome training mandates and requires you retake the training class EVERY 5 YEARS when you renew your permit.

Other states do have reciprocity with MN but KEEP IN MIND that you are NOT exempt from Gun Free School Zones (1000 ft from the edge of school property) unless you have a permit issued BY THE STATE THE SCHOOL ZONE IS IN.
Some people are not concerned about the Federal Gun Free School Zone law (and the fact that carrying with reciprocity DOES NOT allow you to carry in them) but you should ask yourself if you ever actually USE your gun in self-defense, given the propensity of the Fed’s to now get involved and “investigate” many high-profile self-defense shooting cases… (George …read more
