Earlier this year, the U.S Army and Air Force announced that they may being looking for a replacement for the Beretta M9 9mm handgun. In an article published in Popular Military on December 4th, it was confirmed that the Pentagon is seeking a replacement for the 600,000 M9′s currently in service. Even though the Beretta M9 (model 92 for civilians) has been in service for 30 years now, it is a very well known fact that the M9 is prone to excessive premature wear, breakage and failure.
