A man was stabbed Monday afternoon near the southwest corner of the University of Texas campus.

Police were called to the intersection of Whitis Avenue and W. 21st Street at 1:03 p.m. A husband was driving his wife, seated in the front passenger seat, when a male friend in the backseat stabbed the driver in the neck. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Another man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It’s not clear if he was also stabbed. The suspect in the backseat, a friend of the couple, is not in custody.
