Two men were arrested in an Irvine, CA megachurch yesterday after a brief standoff with police. The two men were reportedly armed, but that’s not where this case gets kind of bizarre. Oh no, not by a long shot.

Two naked men with rifles were arrested inside Greg Laurie’s megachurch in Irvine Wednesday night.

As KCAL9/CBS2’s Stacey Butler reports, SWAT teams with rifles trained on the suspects put handcuffs on them and walked them out without any clothing.

Laurie’s Harvest Church is a Christian evangelical church. He is a megapastor who runs the Harvest Crusade in Anaheim every year, which thousands attend. He just held the last crusade at Angel Stadium a week and a half ago.

Video of the new report sheds no additional light on just what the heck was going on. However, it does appear that the two men were clothed when they entered the building, though both were nude when they exited and were placed in police custody.

What we do know is that a security guard saw the two men enter the church with rifles about 7:30 Wednesday night and notified police. The two men allegedly barricaded themselves in, holding off law enforcement for two hours …Read the Rest
