Two Men Arrested Near Townsend, Delaware on Multiple Charges
Charges include drug, hunting and firearms violations
Delaware -(Ammoland.com)- Following an investigation, DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police arrested two men Nov. 13 – the opening day of Delaware’s shotgun deer season – on multiple charges related to illegal hunting practices in southern New Castle County.
Michael J. Whitby, 43, of Townsend, was charged with:
- two counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited
- possession of firearm ammunition by a person prohibited
- hunting with a rifle/illegal method of take
- failure to display required hunter orange during a firearms deer season and hunting without a license.
Whitby was video-arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 7 in Dover and released on $25,150 unsecured bond pending a preliminary hearing in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas. Two rifles were confiscated as evidence in the case.
Wayne D. Whitby, 41, of Dover, was charged with:
- possession of marijuana
- four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia
