Montgomery, AL -(AmmoLand.com)- Several Alabama Black Belt lodges are members of the Alabama Quail Trail, a “collection of individuals, private business and conservation organizations that are passionate about quail and quail hunting,” the Trail’s website says.

The purpose of the statewide group is quail hunting, research and conservation. Ten lodges that partner with the Alabama Black Belt Adventures Association are members of the AQT and offer overnight accommodations.

The lodges are Cameron Quail Preserve in Aliceville, Crooked Oaks in Notasulga, Great Southern Outdoors Wildlife Plantation in Union Springs, Greenway Sportsman Club in Union Springs, Oak Ridge Hunting Lodge in Louisville, P-Arrow Plantation in Livingston, Shenandoah Plantation in Union Springs, Soggy Bottom Lodge in Linden, Sweetwater Preserve in Fitzpatrick and Westervelt Lodge in Aliceville.

Quail season for 2015-16 is Nov. 7 through Feb. 29 – but for the above quail lodges/preserves, the season ends on March 31.
