Three charged in multi-state gun trafficking conspiracy

Federal authorities charged three people last week for conspiring to deal guns without a license in a multi-state scheme dating back to November.
Investigators allege Tesora Amanda Cortes Trejorojas, a 23-year-old active duty service member in the U.S. Navy, straw purchased five guns for her cousin, 28-year-old Azia Sinclair, from a dealer in Norkfolk, Virginia on Nov. 11 after Sinclair expressed frustration over the difficulty of buying a firearm in her home state of New Jersey.
According to court documents, Sinclair and her boyfriend, 22-year-old Shyheim Tyson, visited Trejorojas in Virgnia over Veterans Day weekend in order to pick out the Smith & Wesson handguns,  including three M&P 40 Shields and two M&P 9 Shields.
Sinclair and Tyson returned to Newark with the handguns and 200 rounds of ammunition — all purchased by Trejorojas — on Nov. 12, court records show.
“Omg please don’t be carving bodies,” Trejorojas texted Sinclair after she arrived home, according to the criminal complaint filed Thursday. “My name on them thangssssss lol.”
“Lol nah we not crazy ass,” Sinclair responded. Five hours later, however, law enforcement in nearby Orange Township recovered one of the five handguns while responding to a call of shots fired.
