I have a gun school friend who is an active duty combat engineer who is utterly in love with the striker-fired vz58. It’s a CZ-manufactured 7.62×39 carbine that looks a lot like an AKM, but with some interesting advantages.

Most of us lives in the “free states” where there aren’t magazine restrictions, but what I find particularly interesting about the “Liberty” model is that it’s a variant fed by standard 7.62×39 stripper clips into a ten-round fixed magazine, but it can easily be converted into an unlimited rifle using aluminum vz58 magazines when you’re back in the United States!
