Just because you have a concealed carry permit and a firearm for protection doesn’t mean every potential threat or dangerous situation calls for deadly force. That’s why I encourage everyone to take a Street Encounters Skills Course like this one developed by my friend John Murphy at FPF Training in Culpepper, VA.

While maintaining situational awareness at all times is a best practice for everyone, so is recognizing which situations call for a firearm and which could be handled using another form of personal defense.

Sensei James Williams is a former U.S. Army officer with more than 50 years of experience in the martial arts who developed the renowned System of Strategy. His unique approach to unarmed combat is taught to Special Operations units and law enforcement worldwide.

When he is armed, he’s carrying some pretty impressive tools, some of which he personally created!

Check out what Williams considers the three best safety tools on the market.
