Thanksgiving, Random Santa, Ugly Sweaters and Holiday Cheer at West Virginia Park

West Virginia -(Ammoland.com)- The holiday fun begins Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, at Pipestem Resort State Park and continues through the weekend, according Pipestem Activities Coordinator Kim Hawkins.

The 89th annual Macy’s Day Parade will be shown in the Faulconer Room at McKeever Lodge Thanksgiving morning, followed by a buffet at the Bluestone dining room from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. A free holiday craft-making session is part of the parade-time fun for youngsters.

“We’re bringing a little Thanksgiving tradition to Pipestem for visitors and guests who chose to visit a state park, enjoy the outdoors and take advantage of some home spun fun,” Hawkins said.

Santa is busy preparing for Christmas and will make random appearances at McKeever Lodge from Nov. 27 until Christmas as his work schedule allows. “Santa told me he’s working on those lists but will often break away for surprise random visits to Pipestem,” Hawkins said.

A Holiday of Lights tour departs from McKeever Lodge on the Bluefield Area Transit bus Friday, Nov. 27. The shuttle goes to Bluefield’s Lotito City Park, which …Read the Rest
