Texas Department of Safety is the latest law enforcement department to join the Sig Sauer family, announcing that the Sig Sauer P320 will now serve as its official service firearm.
TXDPS, the statewide agency responsible for law enforcement and vehicle registration, is one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the U.S.. Housing 13 divisions including the Texas Highway Patrol and Texas Rangers, the TXDPS is headquartered in Austin, TX. The department is set to acquire 4,000 Sig Sauer P320s in total.
Sig Sauer said its pleased to provide yet another police organization with the means to maintain safety in the streets. “To earn the confidence of such a highly revered law enforcement agency is truly a privilege for all of us within the Sig Sauer organization. We value and appreciate the opportunity to assist the men and women of the Texas Department of Public Safety in carrying out its mission – to protect and serve the citizens of Texas,” Tom Jankiewicz, Executive Vice President of Law Enforcement Sales at Sig Sauer, said in a news release.
