At least one of the three suspects in an armed robbery of an Orlando, FL apartment complex demonstrated just how much he didn’t know the four rules of gun safety.

Police in Orange County say the teen apparently shot himself fleeing the scene after allegedly robbing at least two people early Wednesday morning.

Deputies said they found two robbery victims at the complex, and their descriptions of the assailants matched the man who claimed that he had been shot. Items belonging to the robbery victims were found on the man who was shot and on two others, deputies said.

“At this time, it appears that the injured suspect shot himself while leaving the scene of the robbery with his accomplices,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The man who shot himself was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The bumbling trio were arrested for armed robbery and the only person who sustained an injury in the incident was the 18-year-old suspect who, when admitted to the hospital, told authorities he had been wounded in a drive-by shooting at the Royal Palms West Apartments.
