A 42-year-old mother is facing murder charges for a fatal shooting that occurred at a drive-thru in Lockland, Ohio, over the weekend.
Tiffany Smith claims she fired in self-defense, while the deceased victim’s family says weapons never should have been involved because the dispute was just “kid stuff.”
Authorities say the altercation started between two groups of teens outside of Joe’s Drive-Thru Saturday, but at some point, the teen’s mothers got involved and that’s when things escalated to deadly proportions.
During the altercation, Smith, who has a permit to carry a concealed license, pulled a pistol from her bra and began beating Lacy Rae King, 32, in the head with her gun. Then Smith fired a single shot, striking King in the upper body.
King was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Smith, who is being held on a $1 million bond, said King threatened her with a bottle before she pulled out her gun.
