A Chicago firefighter was arrested and charged after a photo surfaced of his 14-year-old daughter posing with his AR-15.
The Lane Tech College Prep student sent the snap of herself and the rifle with the tag “Don’t worry, I won’t shoot up Lane,” according to CBS 2.
The Chicago Tribune said that while the girl was not charged, the 60-year-old firefighter was cited for failing to secure a weapon from a minor and possessing an “assault rifle” in the city — violations of city ordinances.
Chicago Public Schools spokeswoman Emily Bolton said parents at Lane were sent letters about the social media post advising that no credible threat was found and that authorities were investigating the situation.
