Team Stoeger Shooter Tim Yackley Wins NRA World Shooting Championship

ACCOKEEK, Md.-(Ammoland.com)- No stranger to stiff competition and pressure-filled situations despite his youth, Team Stoeger shooter Tim Yackley bested the world’s top shooters on his way to winning the recent NRA World Shooting Championship. With the win, Yackley, 20, becomes the youngest winner in the event’s history and pocketed $25,000 in first-place prize money.

Yackley, the eldest son in a family of accomplished Team Stoeger shooters affectionately known as the Yackley 5, finished the NRA World Shooting Championship with a total score of 582.22, 25 points better than the second-place finisher. In addition to collecting 74 percent of all points possible in the event, Yackley shined in Stage 12, the event’s new cross-country biathlon stage. By completing the stage without penalties or misses, his 57.02 was the highest score of all shooters for the stage.

“There haven’t been many things like this with all of the different disciplines you have to focus on,” said Yackley. “I just tried to focus on the things I could control. You can’t control what the other shooters are doing just what you can do.”
