An armed robbery at a Salt Lake City Quizno’s last week ended with one suspect shot in the neck and her two accomplices behind bars.
The injured suspect, whose name has not been released, remains in serious condition, while the third and final suspect turned himself in Monday.
The robbery unfolded around 6 p.m. June 20 and was described by Det. Greg Wilking of the Salt Lake City Police Department as a “takeover-type robbery.”
The three suspects, two of who were armed with guns, entered the business and locked the door. One suspect went for the employee at the register, while the other two went for a female employee in a back room.
Wikling said the employee was barricading the back room in an attempt to keep the suspects out, but they eventually pushed their way through the door. But unbeknown to the suspects, that employee was also armed with a gun and fired two rounds at the suspects.
One bullet struck the female suspect in the neck, while the other hit a window. The two remaining suspects then ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash, leaving their wounded accomplice behind.
