Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes, the person suspected of shooting and killing Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, has been arrested, according to Fox News. Senior law enforcement Border Patrol, and congressional sources confirmed Osorio-Arellanes was arrested earlier today in Mexico.

The arrest comes after a $250,000 reward was offered for anyone who could provide information leading the Osorio-Arellanes’ arrest. He was picked up at a ranch on the Sinaloa and Chihuahua state borders in Mexico.

Terry’s death in December 2010 exposed the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF) Operation Fast and Furious. During this operation, the ATF was allowing known drug cartel members to buy firearms in Phoenix and Southern Arizona. The criminals would then walk the guns across the border. The ATF is responsible for losing more than 1,400 guns they allowed to walk across the United States-Mexican border.

The revelation set off a firestorm in Washington, D.C. and led to a number of Congressional investigations and committee hearings. Then-Attorney General Eric Holder was held in contempt of Congress for failing to provide Congress vital documents pertaining to the gun-running operation.
