Virginia – -(Ammoland.com)-“Surviving a Mass Killer Rampage” takes a detailed look at public mass shootings and how the response to them has changed over time.

The book stresses the importance of eliminating “Gun-Free Zones,” so that armed citizens can defend themselves. The book is well-written and is an easy read.

The book starts with the University of Texas tower shooting in the 1960s, which was stopped with the help of armed citizens and also triggered the beginning of S.W.A.T. teams in law enforcement for addressing any such future events. Later in the book it covers the failure of S.W.A.T in the Columbine High School massacre 30 years later and how that changed the response to public mass shootings yet again.

Public mass shootings where victims successfully fought back are covered, as is special firearms training for teachers in states like Ohio, where they can be authorized to carry on school property.

Bird goes into detail about the teacher training in Ohio.
