COCOA, FL — When one store owner saw a man try to split with some of his beer, he flipped out.

He was armed, a gun went off, and there was no reason for it.

Let’s take a look. According to Space Coast Daily:

At approximately 10 a.m. on Wednesday, a Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputy was in the area of the Chevron on 6 South Cocoa Blvd., when he heard a shot fired from outside the convenience store, according to Yvonne Martinez of the Cocoa Police Department.

Further investigation revealed the owner of the store was inside when a white male entered and appeared to take some beer out the door without paying, police say.

Authorities say the owner then confronted the man in the north parking lot and held the suspect at gunpoint and demanded the man return the beer. The man complied, but at some point during the confrontation the store owner fired a shot, said Martinez in a report.

Police were still trying to decide whether or not to charge the store owner because of his behavior. The store owner has declined to press charges against the shoplifter.

Folks, don’t be dumb. Don’t be this guy.
