Steyr Arms announced that after 20 years of production, the Pro Hunter rifle line has come to an end as the company has shifted focus to its newer hunting rifles.
Steyr says production on the Pro Hunter series of rifles has ceased so better attention can be paid to the manufacturers other rifles to include the CL II, SM 12 and Scout lines. All remaining Pro Hunter rifles are currently on sale.
Originally introduced in 1997, the Pro Hunter offered a durable synthetic stock and removable spacers to adjust length of pull. The rifle comes chambered in a choice of 7mm-08 Remington, .308 Winchester, .270 Winchester, 30-06 Springfield or .300 Winchester Magnum.
Featuring barrel lengths of either 20-inches or 23.6-inches, the long gun boasts the Safe Bolt System that offers a 2+1 safety function with 3 settings operated by a wheel switch on the tang of the stock.
The Pro Hunter series has previously featured prices ranging from $850-900, but will see its remaining inventory dropped to the $599 to $699 range through Nov. 7.
“Once this limited supply of Pro Hunter rifles is gone, that’s it,”
