Though Springfield Armory dropped hints of a California compliant Saint earlier this year, the company has officially moved forward on production releasing a state compliant model.
The Saint, chambered in 5.56 NATO, features a free float handguard and comes factory-equipped with a state-approved stock, 10-round magazine and muzzle brake. The California model delivers the same performance as the standard Saint, but with the added benefit of not falling under the “assault rifle” category in the Golden state.
“This is not a stripped-down SAINT or a band-aid fix,” Springfield Armory CEO Dennis Reese said in a press release. “The California SAINT is a ground-up, factory-engineered response to some of the tightest regulations in the country. It gives California shooters an AR-15 they know is compliant and know they can count on. This SAINT is a solution – not a sacrifice.”
